(Lynnfield, MA) Expanding on its management division, StarGames has announced the signing of international equestrian rider and 2012 Olympic hopeful Boyd Martin to its intimate group of represented athletes.

Australian native Boyd Martin won the prestigious Adelaide CCI4* Championships in 2003 and relocated to the U.S. in 2007 to pursue his dreams of international eventing competition. He spent his first two years in the U.S. working as assistant trainer to Olympic Gold medalist Phillip Dutton and quickly made his own mark on American eventing; in 2008 he was ranked number two on the U.S. Eventing Association Rider of the Year Leaderboard. In 2009, Martin rode under the American flag for the first time. Boyd has also been the highest ranked U.S. rider on the Federation Equestre International (FEI) HSBC Rankings with a high of 4th in 2010 and 7th in 2011.

With several top finishes over the last four years and as a member of the Land Rover United States Eventing Team’s High Performance training list, Boyd is on track for reaching his goal of riding on the 2012 U.S. Eventing Team at the London Olympic Games atop his horse, Neville Bardos, which he saved from a barn fire last May.

“2011 was a challenging year between the barn fire and my father’s passing,” says Martin, “but Neville Bardos has made a spectacular recovery and our confidence builds with each event. I am very much focused and looking forward to the upcoming competition schedule.” Boyd currently has three horses listed in the U.S. High Performance Training List.

Martin’s publicity and career will be overseen by long-time sports agent Jerry Solomon who has represented some of the most accomplished athletes in the world including of Ivan Lendl, Michael Chang, Karch Kiraly, Janet Evans, Nancy Kerrigan, Eliot Teltscher, Shannon Miller and Jackie Joyner Kersee.

“While our main focus over the past few years has been content driven, we are always looking to work with athletes who have a story to tell and who have the ability to transcend their sport,” said StarGames President Jerry Solomon.  “Boyd fits this model and we are looking forward to creating new opportunities for him as he moves up the ranks of competitive eventing.”
In the works are a movie, book and several endorsements. Of particular note will be Martin’s participation in the upcoming Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event which serves as a selection vehicle for the Olympic team.
